Imported from Italy, at My Chess Set we have this gorgeous blue and white alabaster stone chess set. It is made by the Chiellini family, world renowned chess makers. Their factory is located in Volterra, between Pisa and San Gimignano. Alabaster stone was originally used by the ancients to create marvelous structures that are still standing today. The alabaster used in present day can be found in staircases, rails or ecclesiastical decoration. This particular chess set is dyed a rich blue. It would go perfectly with any ocean themed room. The accompanying chessboard accents the chess pieces nicely and as a set would make a beautiful centerpiece in any room. The kings stand at 3 inches tall with a base width of 1.125 inches. The chess board is 14.5” squared. In total the chess set weighs eleven pounds.
